Get involved in our upcoming Poster Design Competition. It is implemented as part of the ‘Green Initiatives’ campaign in the scope of UNDP-GEF “Generate global environmental benefits through environmental education and raising awareness of stakeholders” project in partnership with the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia. The competition is open to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia of all ages. And there are three themes:
Climate Change. The world’s temperature is rising, as a result of the ‘greenhouse effect’ that comes from burning fossil fuels such as coal and oil. Even small increases could have a huge and negative impact on our weather and our climate. We must all play our part, using, and re-using resources more efficiently and moving to sustainable energy sources.
Biodiversity. The number of different species of living creatures on Earth is going down all the time. We need to find new ways to protect natural habitat and learn to share our home with other animals. Only by doing this will we protect the ecosystem that makes sure our food can grow and that we all get to eat.
Soil Degradation. Our soil is where life begins. It’s where we grow our food and all land animals depend on it. But unsustainable farming methods and destruction of forests are damaging the earth under our feet. We must learn to take care of this precious resource and start to put life back into the soil.
